GREAT ALOHA RUN ANNOUNCES KAISER PERMANENTE AS TITLE SPONSOR FOR 2010 RACE
HONOLULU (June 5, 2009) – The Great Aloha Run (GAR) is pleased to announce Kaiser Permanente will expand its role with the largest participatory fundraising activity in the state as title sponsor of the 2010 race. Set to take place on Presidents Day, February 15, 2010, the 26th annual Great Aloha Run is an 8.15-mile race that raises money for charitable organizations while promoting health and fitness. More than 20,000 people participate in the run each year.
“We want to thank Kaiser Permanente for their generosity to the community and are thrilled with our expanded partnership,” said Carole Kai Onouye, Great Aloha Run Co-Founder and Promoter. “There is a natural fit and synergy between both organizations’ mission statements. They are committed to health and fitness and we provide the health and fitness aspect.”
Kaiser Permanente’s sponsorship of the Great Aloha Run title expands the health care organization’s commitment to healthy communities. As a team, GAR and Kaiser Permanente will encourage more residents to dedicate time to healthy lifestyles, and support to charitable causes.
Kaiser Permanente has entered into a three-year agreement as title sponsor of the Great Aloha Run. The company will also continue in its role as title sponsor of the Great Aloha Run Sports, Health and Fitness Expo, a three-day event leading up to the race.
Since 1985, the Great Aloha Run has raised more than $7.6 million and assisted more than 150 local non-profit organizations. For more information, please visit www.greataloharun.com, or call (808) 528-7388.
