GAR Contributes to the KCC Culinary Team

June 2009 – The Great Aloha Run donated $5,000 toward the Kapi‘olani Community College Junior American Culinary Federation (ACF) Competition Team – also known as Team Hawaii. As winners of the Western Regional Championship, Team Hawaii was invited to compete at the National Championship. Training and getting to the competition in Orlando, FL not only took time and effort, but more money than was in the budget. Without outside fundraising, the team would not have been able to compete. In July, Team Hawaii became the ACF Student Team National Champions! Congratulations!
