2009-2010 GAR In Training Workshop
Run, jog-walk, or walk the entire race! We will help you prepare!
Choose a training group just for you – different groups are being offered for runners, joggers, run-walkers and walkers!!!
- All 2010 Kaiser Permanente Great Aloha Run applicants are invited to participate in the 2009-2010 Kaiser Permanente Great Aloha Run In Training Workshop, with GAR In Training Programs Director, Dr. Christiane W. Christ.
- The GAR In Training Workshop meets every Sunday, starting on December 20, 2009 through February 7, 2010 at 7:20 am at Kapi‘olani Park Bandstand.
- Register at the first meeting, December 20, 2009 at 7:20 am at Kapi‘olani Park Bandstand
- Cost: Free to all 2010 Kaiser Permanente Great Aloha Run participants (valued at $185.00 per person)
- Training is progressive and spans over a total of 8 weeks. Distance increases & finishing times change accordingly.
EACH WORKOUT IS COMPRISED OF:
- Training topic
- Warm-up
- Training run & walk by time and distance; both increase steadily each Sunday
- Cool-down
- Stretching
- Q+A/chat session
TRAINING TOPICS AND HEALTH TIPS:
- How to train injury-free
- How to fuel for great workouts
- How to recover from training
- When and how to taper
- What (and what not) to wear for the race
- Race logistics - how to get there, where to park, etc.
