Your support of Great Aloha Run helps us support important community partners like United Cerebral Palsy of Hawaii!
Body: Each year, the Great Aloha Run helps support communities in Hawaii through its financial support of charities and other organizations throughout the islands.
Since its’ inception in 1984, the Great Aloha Run has raised over $10.9 million awarded to over 150 non-profit health and human service organizations and community groups throughout Hawaii.
One of those organizations is United Cerebral Palsy of Hawaii, the local chapter of a national organization that exists to improve quality of life for children and adults with cerebral palsy or other severe disabilities with similar service needs.
The association has a diversified funding base that includes; Aloha United Way, Department of Health – Early Intervention Section, The Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, UCPA of Hawaii and the organizations fundraising events.
In addition to the yearly financial support we provide (through YOU our donors and participants!) to UCPA Hawaii, this year Great Aloha Run partnered with UCPA Hawaii and Savers stores, and GAR will now get paid for each donation that is picked up in GAR’s name.
According to UCPA Executive, Donna Fouts, “We are thrilled to be working with GAR on this new household pick-up program. It is just another way run supporters can additionally endorse the wonderful work Great Aloha Run does in our community”
